Over the Easter weekend, Disney’s “Hannah Montana Movie” raced ahead of “Fast & Furious” for the top slot at the box-office.
“Montana” took in $34 million in its opening weekend, good enough for first place. The movie had a solid opening, beating out usual box-office draw Seth Rogan’s new movie, “Observe and Report.” The R-rated comedy debuted in fourth place, taking in just over $11 million.
Last week’s top grossing film, “Fast & Furious” continued to have a solid run. It dropped to second, taking in $28.7 million. Third place was held by “Monsters vs Aliens” which continues to have a solid box-office run.
Rounding out the top five was the Alex Proyas thriller, “Knowing.”
