Horner Hints About Future “Legend” Developments

Horner Hints About Future “Legend” Developments

February 6, 2009 By News Droid 3 Comments

Last week, we told you the syndicated series “Legend of the Seeker” got the green-light for a second season. So, what can fans look forward to in the rest of season one and beyond?

Actor Craig Horner, who plays Richard says fans can look forward to a confrontation between Richard and the evil Darken Rahl.  “We’ve got two interactions actually and it’s kind of cool,” Horner told TV Guide On-Line.

Fans can also expect a bit a long, slow boil for the attraction between Richard and Kahlan Amnell. “”Maybe we’ll get together, maybe we won’t,” Horner said. “I just hope they keep it going. That’s the kind of thing that drew me to shows like ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, where for those first few seasons it was Buffy and Angel, on and off, on and off.”

As for whether or not the series will follow the chronology of the books as it continues, Horner doesn’t sound hopeful.

“I don’t know if they’ll follow the second book at all, because they already drew from the first book and took some stories and characters from future books. Now that we’ve got our own reins on the show, we can kind of do what we want,” he said.

“Legend of the Seeker” airs in syndication across the United States.

So they’re likely going to take the same approach as “Dexter”; adapting the first novel, and using that to springboard their own stories. I’m not gonna complain about that. After all, that approach did wonders for Dexter.

I’m liking the show. The last three episodes showed what they could do with the source material, and thank God they toned way down on the angst.

Ditto. My only concern is that the shows that are based on the source material are amazing, while the others tend to be kind of lackluster and predictable. If they’ll be veering further from the material . . . well, I’m going to go with hopeful optimism.
