NBC Developing “Soundtrack”

January 6, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

While “Eli Stone” may have been shown the door by ABC, it looks like the spirit of the show may have a second life.  NBC is developing a series called “Soundtrack,” that is being touted as a music-drama project.

Variety reports the series will follow a misguided man’s life begins being accompanied by the music in his head. He’s lost his job, and his ex-girlfriend has gotten engaged to someone else. That’s when he starts to hear the music—the same, iconic song, over and over again, which doesn’t go away until he figures out its significance—and then it’s on to the next track.

The creative force behind the potential series is writer Jared Bush.  Joinign him are producer Jimmy Miller and music supervisor, Dana Sano.

Bush’s TV credits include “All of Us”, “Baby Bob” and “Still Standing.”

I like the concept, but I’m not optimistic about the execution, especially on account of this guy’s past projects. I mean c’mon, Baby Bob? The only memorable thing about that show was Joely Fisher’s cleavage.
