Showtime Says “YES!” to More “Dexter”

October 22, 2008 By Sam Sloan 4 Comments

The premium pay cable channel Showtime likes fan response and all the buzz it’s Emmy nominated, Peabody Award winning serial killer show “Dexter” has been getting of late, especially since it started getting reshown on CBS for a short time as a mid-season replacement. “Dexter” is Showtimes highest rated original programming series ever. As a result of all that it has decided to pick up the series for an additional two seasons, taking it out to a full 5th year.

Seasons 4 and 5 will consist of 12 episodes each with Michael C. Hall returning as the forensic specialist with the side job as a serial killer.

I love Dexter so this is cool news, but I also know Weeds got picked up for a fifth and sixth season, but they’ve not yet announced when it will air or when these shows will even film. I also haven’t heard anything on Californication. Any news in these respects?

Shooting on Dexter’s new seasons begins in November. Don’t know anything about “Weeds” or “Californication” other than I enjoy watching them.

Locking down Dexter for as many season as they can is about no brainer as it can get. The show just rocks. I have no idea where they plan to go with Weeds, quite the bomb she dropped. The young kid is dangerously close to stealing the show.
