Starbuck Kicked to Lost and Found Dept.

Starbuck Kicked to Lost and Found Dept.

October 1, 2008 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

Katee Sackhoff, the actress who put the estrogen in “Battlestar Galactica’s” kick-ass Starbuck character, is sticking with NBC Universal after the Peabody Award winning series takes its final bow next year. Apart from continuing with the BSG legacy in made-for-TV films, Sackhoff will also be starring as the female lead for the NBC-Dick Wolf-produced series “Lost and Found.”

This Chris Levinson creation will not be SF or genre-related and after the huge success of BSG and low-blow that was “Bionic Woman,” Katee is probably ready for some SF respite. “Lost and Found” will give her that as she will star as an offbeat LAPD detective named Tessa who, in a familiar tone, likes to butt heads with those in authority over her, is sent to the basement of the department to work on John and Jane Doe cases. Tessa ends up being a whiz at solving these long-dead case-files.

“Lost and Found” may end up being set up for a mid-season replacement for any of NBC’s shows that fail to measure up in the fall ratings during sweeps-week in November.

Good for her. There are a lot of pluses to cop shows script and budget wise. But dang, another cop show.
