Why the Slice of SciFi News Feed is a Must

September 8, 2008 By S. K. Sloan 1 Comment

Ever wonder how important it is to subscribe to our Slice of SciFi RSS News Feed? Well, it could make your career dreams come true. Listen to what one fan of Slice had to say.

Dear Slice of SciFi,

So, I have the Slice news feed on my iGoogle home page. About a week ago, I saw the news article that says that the NewVoyages team was looking for volunteers. I filled out the web form (following the link) , thinking that they will never call me back. So I press the submit button. Then I walk to the office cafe to get a coffee. My cell phone rings, and it’s the Line Producer from New Voyages. He saw my submittal, and wanted to discuss my background in audio recording (that was the spot he was trying to fill). Well, 2 mins later, I am on the New Voyages team. Yesterday, I just came back from a 4 day shoot that was doing pickups, promotional videos. I will be working on the next video shoot in October. Talk about a wirlwind experience.

Anyways, if it wasn’t for the SliceofScifi news feed, I would never have know about the call for volunteers

Thanks

Lee Goodman
