What Has Happened At Fox?

July 16, 2008 By Sam Sloan 8 Comments

First we reported way back when that Fox renewed the SF drama “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” and then Joss Whedon just this week and inspite of the treatment he and his show “Firefly” received at the hands of Fox Television executives, says he is happy to be back with the network because it isn’t the same place as it was before.

Then last night at the big baseball event known as the annual All-Star game, an event second only to the World Series, Fox presented promotionals for “Sarah Connor” immediately after the prestigious opening ceremony of the game and followed that up with three big promos for the new J.J. Abrams SF series “Fringe”….all before the conclusion of the third inning of the All-Star game.

Fox may be becoming a nice place for SF — finally!

I’ve been burned by Fox in the past,so I’m a bit cautious.

Yea, I remember VR5 and Strange Luck getting swiftly canned back by Fox in the 90’s. But Fox comes nowhere close to canning Sci-Fi like ABC. Someone should do the research and give us stats on the history of networks records with Sci-Fi programs. I’d be real interested.

Maybe people remember a FOX series called “Harsh Realm”? It got canceled and pulled after only THREE episodes. And I thought FOX was best buddies with Chris Carter.
