Web-site helps fans find Big Bang Theory’s shirts

Web-site helps fans find Big Bang Theory’s shirts

June 10, 2008 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

A couple of weeks ago, we highlighted CBS’s geek-centered comedy The Big Bang Theory on Slice of SciFi.

The show is a comedic gem, blending broad situation comedy with great in-jokes for the geek in us all. Theory consistently finds the way to find humor in our geek obsessions and get (most of) the references correct with the dialogue and scientific conversation.

But another aspect of the show is catching the eye of fans–the geek wardrobe worn by the characters. Fans of the series have been so impressed by the geek t-shirts worn by Sheldon and Leonard that some have set up a web-site chronicling the shirts work and where fans can purchase their own shirt. SheldonShirts.com contains a listing of the shirts worn as well as screen-captures to illustrate which shirt is which. The site is clearly a labor of love from a dedicated fan or fans of the show, which has been picked up for a second season on CBS.

In addition, fans can also find where to purchase the belt buckles of another cast member, Howard. The belt buckles include an original Nintendo controller and the Superman shield.

If you’re a fan of the Big Bang Theory, the web site is a lot of fun and you may find yourself clicking to add several if not all of these shirts to your wardrobe. The site also highlights shirts the characters should wear. We’ll have to wait and see if the producers take these recommendations to heart in the second season.

If you’ve not seen Big Bang Theory yet, the show is in repeats this summer on CBS on Monday evenings. The show is definitely worth checking out — not only for the geek references but also because it’s a well-done, funny three-camera comedy.

Thats is so great, the big bang has created a new sensation where the geek is back. Personally i loved the revenge of the geeks when i was a child but now they are no longer haressed but a society superheros. Power to them!
