In the News:

  • Lego has been expanding the creative imagination of children for decades a real hands-on kind of way with its tiny plastic building blocks. Now the company will take future generations into the virtual world with “Lego Universe.”
  • Tomas Alfredson’s “let the Right One In,” a coming of age vampire movie has taken top honors at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.
  • Season Four of SCI FI Channel’s original series “Stargate Atlantis” gets its DVD release this July from MGM Home Entertainment. The release is timed to compliment the second straight to DVD “Stargate SG-1” film, “Stargate: Continuum.”
  • Movie Talk:

  • On Friday, May 16 Disney will release its second of the upcoming Chronicles of Narnia films called “Prince Caspian.” From the standpoint of the Pevensie children only one year has passed since their first visit to the mythical land of Narnia, however, from the point of view of Narnia inhabitants 1300 years have past.
  • For the first time since the Vietnam war ended over 35 years ago, Hollywood will begin releasing DVD titles to that small communist country in a landmark commitment between Sony Pictures and Vietnam’s Galaxy Studio.
  • Special Segment: From Germany comes this first account review of Uwe Boll’s newest film “Postal.” It is good? Is it bad? Or, is it so bad — it’s good?

    TV Talk:

  • This coming Memorial Day, May 26th, the whole world will find out if a U.S. satellite that crashes near a small Utah town and kills everyone in the area except two survivors is a major military mishap, an alien plot to destroy all life on Earth… or something far worse. The Andromeda Strain” two-day miniseries event premieres on the A&E Cable Network.
  • The successful and popular CBS series “Ghost Whisperer” has landed a huge syndication deal for lead actress and producer Jennifer Love Hewitt. Those on board are the SCI FI Channel, Ion Network and WE Television.
  • Interview: We get the wonderful pleasure of talking with actor Ken Marino, who stars as Tony the gay demon on the exceptionally good CW Network television program “Reaper.”

    Future Talk:

  • The new adult novel, “The Dangerous Days of Daniel X” from author James Patterson, has even hit book shelves yet and New Regency has already scooped up the rights to turn the alien-themed novel into a major motion picture.
  • A sequel to Neil Marshall’s low-budget horror hit film “The Descent,” is currently being negotiated by a joint venture between Pathe and Celador Films.
  • Listener comments: If you have any suggestions or comments, please let us know. Keep your comments brief, or funny, and maybe you’ll hear your message on the voicemail show! See you next week with fresh new content.

All I can say is people need to listen past the end credits . . . Summer is one of the few that can rock an eye patch and not look like a pirate.
