bloodgoodBloodgood joins T4 cast

Journeyman actress Moon Bloodgood will join Christian Bale and Sam Worthington as part of the cast of Terminator 4 according to the Hollywood Reporter. Bloodgood will play a no-nonsense, battle-hardened member of the resistance against the machines.

The new film in the Terminator franchise is planned as part of a new trilogy examining the events right after Skynet destroys humanity. The first film is set to open in theaters next summer.

TV Guide confirms Sarah Connor renewal

TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello posted the scoop over the weekend that FOX has renewed Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

While FOX has officially declined reports, waiting to reveal the news at the upcoming upfront meetings, Ausiello reports that he has multiple confirmed reports the series will be back for a second season.

Carter open to an X-Files trilogy

Fans of the X-Files may have a lot more to look forward to than they originally anticipated if Chris Carter has his way. The creator of the popular sci-fi drama revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he’d be open to making the big-screen adventures of Mulder and Scully a trilogy.

We would like to make another film,” Carter told EW.com on Friday, prior to his appearance at this year’s New York Comic Con. “We’re not under the illusion that it’s a given; we’ve got to perform with [this summer’s X-Files: I Want to Believe] in order to give it another day.”

But Carter suggested that a future movie might re-engage with the original TV show’s overarching alien-invasion plot. Doing so could be timely given that, according to X-Files mythology, the final stage of said invasion is due to start in December 2012. “Well, we didn’t think that one up,” Carter said. “That is actually part of the literature. It is a Mayan date. But I think we’d like to revisit that whole storyline.”

wonder_womanSilver wants big-screen Wonder Woman origin

The on-again, off-again big-screen Wonder Woman movie could be moving toward being on-again and if producer Joel Silver has his way, it will be an origin story.

Speaking to SciFi Wire, Silver revealed that Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland, who wrote an original draft of the film, are working on a new draft for the long-rumored project.

“I thought for a while that I didn’t want to do a genesis story of Wonder Woman,” Silver said. “And so the first few drafts I created weren’t genesis stories. And I don’t know, maybe after I saw Spider-Man or whatever, I thought that it should be a genesis story. And then I had to kind of go back to the drawing board, because I had a version that the studio wanted to make that was not a genesis story.”

“I just think it should be a genesis story, and I’ve got to find a way to tell it,” Silver said. “Because whenever I got into the stuff, you know, Paradise Island and stuff, it was kind of goofy. But I’ve got to find a way to do it where it’s effective. I mean, I thought some of the stuff they did in 300 was great. I don’t know if I want to make it that way, but, I mean, I think there’s a way to do this where the audience is going to accept it. But I’ve got to figure it out.”

While the project has been put on the back-burner for now, Silver says he is looking to “figure out a way to do it.”

Fans can download “lost” Who commentary

Region one fans of Doctor Who may have noticed the advertised commentary and the actual comentary featured on the disc for the series three finale “Last of the Time Lords” are different. Last year, the advertised and promoted commentary with actors David Tennant, John Barrowman and Freyma Angyeman couldn’t be cleared for release in region one, leading to a last-minute substitution of last year’s podcast commentary.

Fans who want to hear the actors’ commentary on the story can download it via the BBC America website.
