Gearing Up for Season Four of “BSG”‏

March 19, 2008 By Sam Sloan 4 Comments

bsg_centurion1.jpgThe long wait for new epsiodes of “Battlestar Galactica” is almost over and with the return of the critically acclaimed series comes a lot of the cast and crew doing publicity for the show.

And the SCI FI Channel will get fans ready for the new season with two new half-hour specials on the show that air on March 28th at 10 p.m. EST.

Filming is currently underway for the second half of the fourth season and is expected to wrap by June. The first half of season four will air starting in April. Beyond that we only have speculation that includes the final half of the episodes airing in the fall or as late as January 2009. The final decision rests with SCI FI but may be influenced by how much post-production work is required on the final run of episodes.

Of course, fans are ravenous with curiousity on where the show will go in the fourth season and how it will all end.

As we scooped earlier this morning, producer Ron Moore promises that we will find out the identity of the final Cylon in season four and hinted that we may know the identity as early as the mid-season cliffhanger. Moore also confirmed that Joss Whedon was on tap to direct an episode, but has had to bow out due to conflicts with Whedon’s new show, “Dollhouse.” Moore also confirmed that former Mutant Enemy scribe Jane Espensen has left the writing staff to work on the long awaited SCI FI original show, “Warehouse 10.”

Moore dropped other hints, including the return of Romo Lamkin in at least one episode this season. Lamkin, played by Mark Sheppard, defended Gaius Baltar in his season-ending trial last year. Sheppard also contributed three podcast commentaries on his episodes for SCI FI’s web site. Lamkin also did a short stint on BSG producer David Eick’s “Bionic Woman” this season.

And, while Moore won’t give away if the series ends with Galactica finding Earth or not, he has said that things won’t be neatly wrapped up at series’ end.

The final season unfolds Friday, April 4 at 10 p.m. EST on SCI FI.

Romo Lampkin will be back? Oh yeah! I really liked that guy.

Did they change the title of “Warehouse 13” to “Warehouse 10”, or is that something else?

“Lamkin also did a short stint on BSG producer David Eick’s “Bionic Woman” this season.”

It’s actually spelled Lampkin and the actor Mark Sheppard was on “Bionic Woman” Lampkin is the BSG character he plays.
