December 17, 2007 by Sam Sloan   || Category: Human Interest

arthurcclarke.jpgFamed science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke, creator of the landmark novel “2001: A Space Odyssey” is celebrating his 90th birthday at his home in Sri Lanka. Besides creating such wonderful novels like Odyssey and the Rama series, he is also the father of the whole concept of geostationary satellites now used in everyday telecommunications.

The great author, inventor, scientist and futurist stated that for his 90th birthday he wants to see just three of his wishes come to reality:

  • For the world to embrace cleaner energy resources
  • For a lasting peace in his adopted home, Sri Lanka
  • And for evidence of extraterrestrial beings
  • Netflix, Inc.
