This Week’s Sci-fi Menu

September 16, 2007 By S. K. Sloan 5 Comments

On “Eureka” this Tuesday, September 18 at 9/8C a prehistoric bacteria makes Sheriff Carter irresistible to women. But if he can’t control his mojo, they might just eat him alive. Lexa Doig (Rommie) of Andromeda guest-stars!

Speaking of women eating men alive, Friday, September 21, Flash and Dale track down a Mongo woman who is literally sucking the life out of men — kinda similar to what this show does when watched by viewers each week.

Torchwood’s Captain Jack Harkness is back on “Doctor Who” this week to help the Doctor and Martha fight the savage Futurekind at the end of the Universe in the episode titled “Utopia.” The great actor Sir Derek Jacobi costars as The Master. “Doctor Who” airs on Friday 8/7C. “Torchwood” Season One is currently airing on BBC America and begins this Monday on HD-Net.

This weekend, Universal HD was showing a “Painkiller Jane” marathon. It is amazing how good this show becomes when watched in high definition TV with the sound completely turned off. On SCI FI Channel this Friday, Jane becomes convinced that the government and her team have been lying to her all along about the Neuros so she joins the other side.

The SCI FI Saturday Movie on September 22 at 9/8C is about an army of water drenched zombies who decide to make society pay forty years after their village was inundated by a dam built to form a lake where they’re town use to be. Of course, nobody told them in advance what would happen to them once the dam was completed.

Salvation is just around the corner folks. The fourth season of “Stargate: Atlantis,” with Amanda Tapping now commanding Atlantis Control will premiere on September 28.

Why must everyone spoil this episode of “Who”‘s fantastic twist?!? I was pissed when the Sun did it, I was pissed when ABC did it… Gah!

Please remove the Dr Who Spoiler

A little hard to call this a spoiler since it comes from SCI FI Channel’s official press release.

Sam, if SCI FI included that in their press release, then they made a pretty serious error (IMHO). That is the pivotal revelation of the episode, and it happens well past the halfway point. I guess SCI FI needs to *watch* their shows before they promote them…. Thanks for all the great coverage on the new and returning series.

I already knew about that “spoiler” back in July when “Doctor Who” was just about to begin. So, it’s not much of a spoiler for me.

“Doctor Who” is aired in the UK before it’s aired in the US, so I’m not surprised when something is given away before I watch it.
