Two Classics — One Director

September 11, 2007 By Sam Sloan 3 Comments

Story submitted by: Leon Kensington (SoSF Fan Contributor)

tron.jpgDirector Joseph Kosinski is ready to get busy helming the next chapter in the “Tron” saga 25-years after the first Disney classic SF film hit theaters.

Kosinski will take the story about a computer programmer that gets sucked into his own computer memory chip and is required to fight battles within the computer’s circuitry to the next level.

The original 1982 film was a groundbreaker in special effects technology, successfully intertweaving real live-action with the first ever use of CGI.

Kosinski has a background in directing commercials and will also be resurrecting another SF classic with the remake of “Logan’s Run.”

I do not see how there could be a second chapter of this, the first pretty much tied everything up. But it made money once…….

They’ll probably use the storyline of the son following in the footsteps of dear old dad.

Actually, the video game Tron 2.0 has a very nice plot line that would work well for a sequel. So much so that in a way I feel like I have seen a sequel.
