Bruckheimer Comes To the Small Screen

August 16, 2007 By Sam Sloan 2 Comments

jerry_bruckheimer_2005.jpgFamed big screen action director/producer Jerry Bruckheimer will be making a trip to the small screen for CBS by creating a new fantasy-action oriented tale about globe-trotting treasure hunters, according to Variety.

Bruckheimer and “Sleeper Cell” creators Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff are developing the CBS pilot that will be considered for pick-up as a weekly, as yet untitled, series. The story is set to revolve around an ex-Navy SEAL turned archaeologist — sort of Indiana Jones with a license to kill.

This will not be Bruckheimer’s first visit to television. He produces two reality TV shows — “National Treasure” and the highly popular show “The Amazing Race,” as well as two CBS hit dramas “Cold Case” and “Without A Trace.”

Voris told Variety that he and his partner were intrigued by the idea of “taking that Indiana Jones paradigm and making it feel cool and real. “We want to make use of the current international situation as a backdrop,” he said.

Doesn’t he also produce the CSI franchise, or am I just insane?
