It’s a tough choice. I just don’t know who can step into the Shat’s shoes and do the role of Kirk justice…

I’m not enough of a TV watcher to know who any of these people are! I would like to see Nathan Fillion have at it, but I know that won’t happen….

  3. Keith aka Mr. Wall says

I’d vote for Emile Hirsch if he was on the list but he’s not so I went with Thomas Dekker

My 13yr-old daughter says that it should be Patrick Flueger (Sean, from 4400). Since we know that is the target demo for all of Hollywood, that’s definitive.

I’d go with Hartley. He was great as Oliver Queen on Smallville, and he’s also very nice in person.

Kyle Schmid, hands down. His work on Blood Ties has been fantastic. Blood Ties is on hiatus for the moment but you can go to Lifetimetv.com, register and see his work on the videos they supply.

I agree with lisa – I would love nothing more than to see Nathan Fillion take this on!

  8. Sam says

While Nathan sounds good, I’m afraid he’s just a tad beyond that 20 something age group that JJ is looking for. That is why the most likely candidate, Matt Damon, was told by JJ that he wasn’t chosen for the part as well.

Does it say something about my NOT being in the target demographic that I don’t recognize any of those names?

    I feel old.

Don’t feel bad Justme….if I wasn’t on the news end of this industry I doubt I’d know who most of them were either. 😉 But, these are your next batch of rising stars and future superstars.

All I saw was Justin Hartley — after that there was no contest…

  12. Terri says

I picked Justin Hartley. He is an amazing actor, and he would make an awsome Kirk. I don’t normally watch Star Trek, but I would if he were on there.

i picked justin hartley because simply put he looks more like shat than any of the others…more non-listers i’d pick: ben mackensie from the o.c., nicholas brendon from buffy the vampire slayer, chad michael murray from one tree hill, and justin timberlake.

  14. Jeremy from Seattle says

    August 1, 2007 at 1:06 am

I picked Justin, but I’d have to see Tom as a Blonde or with lighter brown hair. I was suprised that he is only 2 years younger than me, i totally thought he was way younger. Dude’s all 30 and stuff.

  15. Carston Lockwood says

    Um…Where is Nathan Fillion’s name??

If they want this to be a surefire hit then hurry up and cast this guy already!!
