“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” easily took the week and bull-dosed all the competition this weekend as well, easily surpassing champion the “Transformers.” Harry and his band of learning wizards grossed another $77+ million since Friday adding to its already growing 4-day total of $140 million. By next weekend it will probably easily surpass the landmark 2-week total of $223 million acquired by “Transformers.”
Speaking of which, “Transformers” clocks in at number 2 for this weekend. “Ratatoullie” still hanging on strong against these two big blockbusters at number 3. This Pixar film has grossed $143 million since its debut three weeks ago. Not bad, showing that Disney can always count on a mouse of some kind to fill its bank vault.
Rounding out the top 5 grossers thus far for the weekend are the Bruce Willis flick “Live Free or Die Hard,” and the Robin Williams comedy “License to Wed.”
We will have the Final Top 10 later in the week.
