Fantasy Feast

July 6, 2007 By Sam Sloan 2 Comments

When one thinks of scifi, fantasy, horror and tales of magic, South Africa generally doesn’t immediately come to mind. However, during the months of August and September a really unique book store called Reader’s Paradise will be presenting a “Fantasy Feast” promotional with participating fantasy books that will include signed bookplates from the authors.

Writers Terry Brookes, Trudi Canavan, David Brin, Neil Gaiman, Tad Williams, Elizabeth Moon and more are included in the promotion. This is considered one of the biggest events in the world of fantasy and science fiction.

If you have a craving for magic, the fantastical or the imaginative worlds of the science fiction author and you happen to be in Cape Town, South Africa during August and September of this year, this is one event you may not want to miss.

Reader’s Paradise is located on Kloof Street, in the CBD of Cape Town, South Africa.

I might be able to assist with a report from the field. No guarantees but I will be S. Africa for all of August.

My stay is in the Pretoria/Gauteng region, it doesn’t mean a day or weekend trip couldn’t be arranged. I’ll look into my options.

Looks to be about a 400 miles, so it would take some planning, and might be a bit extreme, for a visit to a book store, but I shall see.
