    I’m lost for words…

The world will be a quieter, more boring place without you, my friend.

Thanks for many, MANY hours of audio fun – I can see Mike putting together a “Best of Randy” clip show as I type!

Final thought: the late, great English comedian Spike Milligan instructed his headstone to read “I told you I was ill!” – not exactly sure why that just popped back into my head… I hope no-one is offended by that.

(Maybe I wasn’t so lost for words after all…)

That is sad news. I wasn’t aware of Joe’s illness. Several years back, Joe was a talented and passionate member of our First Draft APA community. His fiction was among the best of the group. His experience and generous spirit helped set the tone for the community. He is fondly remembered here.

I also did not know about his podcasts, which I now look forward finding and downloading.

First thing that popped into my head when I read the news was last weeks BSG. Joe sitting in that Viper waving to Lee (well, it would probably by Tricia Helfer…) and saying he found his idea of Sanctuary.

He’ll be missed, the world needs more geeks willing to geek like no one is watching them.

Joe can be heard on the following shows:

    • many episodes of Slice of SciFi prior to November 2006
    • almost every episode Michael and Evo’s Wingin’ It prior to March 2007
    • every episode of Kick-Ass Mystic Ninjas prior to March 2007 (his last one was Show #26)
    • and older episodes of The Dragon Page Cover to Cover, the first show he began working with Michael and Evo on years ago

Those are the shows he was a regular on. You may need to check the show notes to see which episodes of Cover to Cover he did and did not participate in. I will need help from the show’s fans to track down what shows he made guest appearances on.

I really can’t believe this has happened. It came so fast.

I’m listening to the Tribute show right now and I can’t help but tear up just listening to it. Listening to a podcast every week you begin to feel almost like you guys are personal friends. Even though I’ve never met Joe, Evo, or Mike it still feel like I know you. Having Joe leave us this quickly is hard to deal with.

He was a good man. There’s really not much more to say. He was a good man.

    GODDAMMIT!!!!:-(

WHY THE FUCK DOES SHIT LIKE THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN?!?!?

oh well…no use in getting angry over it…

at least he’s got good company waiting for him in heaven…Douglas Adams,Issac Asimov,Scotty…he will b ok…

“Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince,
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!”

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you’re chewing on life’s gristle
    Don’t grumble, give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best…

And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…

    If life seems jolly rotten
    There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you’re feeling in the dumps
    Don’t be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle – that’s the thing.

And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…

    For life is quite absurd
    And death’s the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin – give the audience a grin
Enjoy it – it’s your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

    Life’s a piece of shit
    When you look at it
    Life’s a laugh and death’s a joke, it’s true.
    You’ll see it’s all a show
Keep ’em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the right side of life…
    (Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the bright side of life…
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life…
(I mean – what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing – you’re going back to nothing.
    What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life…

JOE MURPHY~ u shall be missed by many…
