Dynamic Duo Make Drug Bust

November 16, 2006 By Sam Sloan 5 Comments

How would you respond if Batman and Robin appeared at your door? According to the Daily Mail, that is exactly what happen in Weymouth, Dorset in the UK.

batman_robin.jpgTwo men, dressed as the caped crusader and his boyish sidekick knocked on the door at the home of some unsuspecting drug dealers, acted as if they were drunk looking for a neighborhood costume party. They made such a scene that the occupants called the local constabulary to have them vacated off the premises.

The two dressed as superheros left and stayed by the back door and when police arrived, the drug dealers let them in thinking they were there to get rid of the two drunks. Instead, they found themselves in handcuffs. When the owner bolted for the back door, the two dressed as Batman and Robin quickly dispatched him in superhero style …Kaboom! Splat!

“This was my first costumed acting experience,” Sgt. Tony Smith said. “The Batman costume was quite comfortable and not too restricting. But it was difficult finding somewhere to put my CS spray. There was nowhere for the handcuffs, but then Batman does not need handcuffs.”

Perhaps next time he will use Batman’s handy utility belt.

The suspects were arrested and charged with a myriad of drug offenses.

That rocks! Now if only I could find a copy of that Snickers commercial, when the football player gets knocked for a loop, and he thinks he’s Batman…

I would have loved to hear the pitch when it was first suggested that the officers do this.

[…] Dynamic Duo Make Drug Bust – Yup, it’s exactly what it sounds like.  It also sounds like it might be a hoax, but I did check it out on Snopes.com to see if it was there.  It wasn’t, so perhaps this is a legit story.  Of course, it’s fairly recent so it could be that it’s not on Snopes yet.  Still, it makes for an interesting story.  Check it out!
