The Captain Zooms To the Big Screen

June 19, 2006 By Kyle Nin 5 Comments

zoom3.jpgIf the studio sticks with the Galaxy Quest formula this one could really be good. And, with a cast that includes Tim Allen, Rip Torn, Courtney Cox and Chevy Chase it would be hard to miss.

Tim Allen is Jack, a.k.a. Captain Zoom. Only problem is, he is much older, out of shape and without his superpowers of the past. Nevertheless, Jack has been called upon to once again save humankind as we know it.

The powers that be have recruited Captain Zoom to turn a motley crew of disinterested, ragtag group of superpowered kids into a new generation of dedicated, caring superheros to save the world from a coming destruction that will wipe out all living things.

The cast is rounded out with Spencer Breslin, Kate Mara, Michael Cassidy and Ryan Newman and will be directed by Peter Hewitt for Revolution Films.

Look for “ZOOM” in theaters on August 11, 2006.

Could be good. Could be a live “The Incredibles”

I think its funny that Courtney Cox – who if you remember was in Misfits of Science with powers of her own is now here training kids with new powers – talk about full circle!

I saw the trailer to this in front of Cars… I was not impressed. I would have rather he filmed a sequel to Galaxy Quest before this remake of Sky High crossed with the Incredibles.
