On the Next Slice of SciFi Show #060 – June 6, 2006

June 4, 2006 By News Droid Leave a Comment

Could the fact that our next show is airing on 06-06-06 be a bad “Omen?”

I hope not because we have a great lineup of guests that have joined the gang at this year’s Balticon. That’s right we meet up with fellow podcaster Paul Fischer (ADD Cast, Balticon Podcast), Mur Lafferty (Geek Fu Action Grip, I Should be Writing) and scifi author Steve Eley (Escape Pod. They all sit down and chat for a bit between their busy schedule at Balticon 40.

At the news desk we find out that the famous mouse has joined the DVD movie download biz and has opened up his extensive Disney Pictures video vault of newer films for purchase online.

The Original Transformers Movie celebrates its 20th anniversary with a new DVD release and will debut along with a line of Classic Transformers action figures.

Superman will Return two days earlier than expected to try and shore up some that $20 million dollar production costs. Will it work?

Movie Talk takes a look at a sheep in wolf’s clothing in the Saul Blinkoff, Elliott Bour and Bart Coughlin production of the animated feature “Sheepish.” And, the Rock reveals that “Spy Hunter” is written and ready to shoot.

No trivia segment this week.

David Eick, Battlestar Galactica’s executive producer, spills some beans about the storylines for the 3rd season of the Peabody Award winning Sci-Fi Channel show.

In other TV Talk news NBC has a “Passion” for its supernatural soap.

Summer gazes back into her crystal ball and takes a look at the future for scifi/horror/fantasy and sees another scifi comedy on the horizon with “Spanky Johnson: Monster Hunter.” Just before the ball clouds up she spys more Bond on our horizon with Daniel Craig returning to continue with Bond feature number 22 soon after “Casino Royale.”

This Tuesday, the Devil’s own day 06-06-06, download Slice of SciFi Show number #060, kick-back around that seething pot of viscous liquid and gleefully enjoy the program.
