Charles Ross Visits the Gang on Slice of SciFi Show #056

May 4, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 1 Comment

Slice of SciFi is very happy to announce that on May 9th, Charles Ross, the genius behind the famous, or should I say, infamous “One Man Star Wars” stage show and the “One Man Lord of the Rings” will be our special guest joining Michael and Evo for SoSF Show #056.

Charlie is a true Star Wars fanatic with an encyclopedic mind for every single line in the original trilogy. His obsessive love for the franchise led him to the stage where he created his now world famous “The One-Man Star Wars Trilogy” act. His sharp and quick wit, steel-trap memory, voice impersonations and rubbery body movements have become renowned in the entertainment industry. His one man shows are such a hit with George Lucas that LucasFilm Ltd. asked him to appear at the Star Wars ‘Celebration III.”

Charlie took that same energy and began refocusing it on another famous trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings” from which he created his “The One-Man LOTR Trilogy” stage show. His performances of LOTR on stage have brought praise from several of its screen stars including the great Ian McKellen (Gandalf the Grey/White).

For the rest of our show there is lots of general, movie and TV news to share, including more turnarounds by J.J. Abrams and his filming of the next STAR TREK movie, Wil Wheaton gets a new gig, and more X-Men to come.

We will talk about why it’s important to stay out of the Blackwell Hotel, Jon Voight’s transformation, a clash with the Titans, more 3D movies coming your way, and a new scifi comedy offering from Jack Black.

Just to show we are not all ignorant of the rest of mankind we will discuss Red Dwarf’s latest DVD release, “Scream 2006,” and how the SciFi Channel is tipping its toe into the news business.

Finally, in what lies in our future, Bruce Willis is talking Sin City prequels and Red Sonja comes weilding back to the big screen.

Doug’s back with three very interesting trivia clips that are sure to stump the cult, and there is much much more on hand……so be sure and get the download or tune in that XM radio dial..or however else you can manage it, just BE THERE!

*SPECIAL NOTE to Our Fans*

Due to the fact that the guys will be at the Nebula Awards and the LepreCON this weekend, there will be no Slice of SciFi Voicemail Program for Show #56. Sorry kids, but remember our regular Podcast/XM Show #56 on Tuesday May 9th is a new one, and the Voicemail Podcast will return for Show #57.
