NBC Starts Renew/Cut Process

May 1, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 1 Comment

NBC Television has already started announcing its renewal schedule for the next season of programming and Medium fans will be happy to note that Patricia Arquette’s sleeper hit has been renewed for a third season on the Peacock Network.

Still up in the air is the future of another fan favorite, “Surface” which stars Lake Bell, Jay R. Ferguson and Carter Jenkins. Today, May 1, 2006 is the scheduled big fan email and snail-mail support effort along with the submission of the petition drive signatures that has been going on since the first of the year. Also, show creators Jonas and Josh Pate will be pitching their bid to NBC execs today to get them to see the advantage to keeping the show alive and well on their coming season’s schedule.

Have you signed the petition yet? It’s still not too late!

**SPECIAL NOTE**

This just in from TVShowsOnDVD.com:

Surface – There’s Something In The Water…And On DVD This August!

This morning Universal is announcing the Surface – Season 1 set for release on August 15th. Yes, it says “Season 1” rather than “The Complete Series”, because the show is officially on hiatus since finishing the first season this past February, and not actually canceled by NBC (though many think otherwise). The 15 episodes that aired will be on 4 DVDs packed in slim cases that slide into a slipcover box. Cost is $49.98 SRP. No other details are available so far, but we’ll be back with specs, extras (if any), and cover art just as soon as we get them. Stay tuned!
