First it was a TV show starring Dr. Evil’s number one guy Robert Wagner. Now it’s Will Smith’s turn at bat.
The star of “Men in Black” and “I Robot” is being tapped to star in the big screen remake of “It Takes a Thief,” the story about a likeable rogue named Alexander Mundy who gets harpooned by the government to do blackbag jobs as a professional CIA operative thief for national security.
Universal Pictures will be picking up the tab for this production in partnership with Smith’s company Overbrook Entertainment. David Elliot and Paul Lovett, the team that brought “Four Brothers” to the screen will provide the script.
Smith currently has three other films on his docket, “Pursuit of Happyness,” Tonight, He Comes” and “Time Share.” The second film mentioned, “Tonight, He Comes” is a fantasy about a superhero who crash-lands in a small rural town causing all kinds of problems when he falls for a local housewife.

OK, let it be known that I love some Will Smith. (If it not for the fact that she could probably kick my 6′ tall ass, I’d knock Jada down to get to Will.)
I’ve forgiven him for “Wild Wild West”.
But as for playing Al Mundy? In a movie version of what was one of my most favourite shows when I was a youngling?
Let me be the first to say:
“Noooooooooooooooo!”
