Browder Ready To Scape… Again

January 10, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 3 Comments

Ben Browder, star of the longest running scifi program on American television (Stargate SG-1), is ready and willing to do a follow-up to Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.

“Oh, I’d be more than happy to play John Crichton again,” Browder said in a recent interview for the SciFi Channel. “I haven’t heard any news lately about it. I think that will [be] a business decision. When it’s the right time for it to be realized, and when there’s a will by [executive producer] Brian Henson to do it, that’s probably when it will happen.”

Browder added: “Brian is obviously busy doing other things at the moment, but he and I have talked about it. I think it’s more a question for Brian than it is for me as to when and whether we’ll see more Farscape. But Farscape has a very special place in my heart. I absolutely adored the series and adored playing John Crichton, so if the opportunity presents itself I’d be more than happy to go back into the fold again.”

At the moment, however, Browder is quite happy and content playing Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell, commanding officer of the SG-1 Stargate team. And, he won’t have to feel homesick about Farscape for very long because Claudia Black (his co-star in Farscape) will be joining him and the rest of the team as a regular member of SG-1 once season 10 begins. Claudia’s love interest will not be Ben. That dubious honor will fall to Michael Shank’s character, Daniel Jackson.

I am sooooo ready to see more Farscape produced. I haven’t gotten in “Farscape SG-1” since I dropped cable shortly after Peacekeeper Wars originally aired, but I loved the chemistry between Claudia Black and Ben Browder as well as the rest of the Farscape cast. Even though I’ll probably eventually pick up SG-1 on DVD, I really want to see Aeryn & John back on Moya where they belong (with little D’Argo). I mean think about it – Officer Sun as a mom… that’s a comedy of errors in and of itself!

Farscape and Babylon 5 are the best for me right now, Dune with Kyle Maclachlan, most definitely not the series, is my forever fav movie…all the Treks work for me. i always want to learn what they mean in my world, though, not just a fantasy, but what reality do they speak to in me..
