Netflix Greenlights “Diablero” The horror-fantasy series will debut in 2018

Netflix Greenlights “Diablero” The horror-fantasy series will debut in 2018

August 3, 2017 By Summer Brooks Leave a Comment

Diablero, one the newest Netflix original series, has been greenlit. The series is produced by Juan Gordon and Pedro Uriol of Morena Films, and is set to film entirely in Mexico. The executive producer and director for the series, J.M. Cravioto (El Chapo, Sr. Ávila, El Más Buscado) and director Rigoberto Castañeda (Paramédicos, Hasta que te Conocí, KM31) join a growing slate of Latin American original productions that Netflix has brought to audiences around the world.

The horror fantasy thriller is centered around Father Ramiro Ventura, a fallen priest who finds himself seeking the aid of legendary “diablero” or demon hunter Elvis Infante. With the aid of Nancy Gama, a modern day superhero, this improbable trio sets in motion a series of events that could determine the fate of mankind.

Diablero also has a comedic twist and is based on the book “El Diablo me obligó” by F.G. Haghenbeck. Alongside Cravioto and producing company Morena Films, the writers include Pablo Tebar, Veronica Marza, Gibrán Portela, Luis Gamboa and José Rodríguez.

Netflix members everywhere can expect front row seats to this supernatural battle between demons and angels in 2018.
