Star Trek Booze

June 17, 2013 By Summer Brooks 2 Comments

Slice stirs the debate on renaming the Flight Test Land after the most famous astronaut, that’s what made us so thirsty for Vulcan Beer and Star Trek Wines, and our special guest James fed everyone way too much, then more debate with about Biebs in Space – is it good the Justin touch the stars? DC pushes the Digital Realm, and this fall you’ll see more Continuum, Being Human and something from Rod Serling!

Here is a list of most of the dishes, drinks, and snacks I provided during my night of Craft Services for the Slice crew:

    Appetizers:

    Caramelized Bacon
Chorizo Stuffed, Bacon Wrapped, Pitted Dates
A cheese plate with: Blue Cheese, Applewood Smoked Cheddar, and Humboldt Fog
Mixed precut fruit from Whole Foods

    Dips:

Blue Cheese Cream Cheese dip with Bacon Bits – From my dry runs, I found that this worked out better as a dip, rather than as a cheesecake, and to save time, I used Wellshire Bacon Bits
    Black-Eyed Pea Hummus
Italian Style Salsa – This is a recipe of my own, and it contains: Roma Tomatoes, Shallots, Peppercini, Mushrooms (smoking them can add extra flavor), Garlic, Basil, Dried Oregano, and Toasted Pine Nuts.

    Crackers, Chips, and Bread:

    Ak-Mak Sesame Crackers
    Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips
Lundberg Pico de Gallo Rice Chips
    Carr’s Table Water Crackers
A French Baguette from Whole Foods – sliced up for the Cheese Plate

    Drinks:

GT’s Ginderade Kombucha and Strawberry Serenity Synergy
    Hubert’s Cherry Limeade
    Coco Metro’s Belgian Chocolate Milk
    Sanpellegrino Limonata

    Main Dishes:

Cuban Sandwich Rolls – Because of time constraints, I didn’t make the dough from that recipe. I rolled out Immaculate Baking Company’s Crescent Roll dough instead.
Oven Fried Eggplant Mini-Sandwichs with Muir Glen Italian Herb Pasta Sauce and Cedar’s Mediterranean Foods Roasted Eggplant Hummus as condiments – The original recipe calls for frying the eggplant, but to be less messy, I oven fried the eggplant rounds, coating them with Edward & Sons Organic Breadcrumbs, and serving them on dinner rolls from Whole Foods.

    Desserts:

Chocolate Avocado Pie which used a premade chocolate pie crust, and Enjoy Life’s Mini Chips

To the Slice Crew: Let me know of you think I left anything out of the list.
