What Would a J.J. Abrams “Empire Strikes Back” Look Like?

February 1, 2013 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

As you already know, J.J. Abrams is getting to set to take the reigns of the Star Wars franchise.  Many of us are curious to see what that will look like when Episode 7 opens in 2015.

If you can’t wait that long, a fan made trailer attempts asks the question of what The Empire Strikes Back would have looked like if Abrams directed it.

The answer probably won’t surprise, you but it is an interesting one.  I will admit I’m shocked that the trailer didn’t follow the trend of most modern trailers and give away the big twist…

I heard a rumor that the J.J. stands for Jar Jar!

    Don’t even…

Now what would be funny is if J.J. does the same thing with the Star Wars universe that he did with the Star Trek universe… blows the entire existing timeline out of existence and gives us a fresh slate.

Might be the closest thing we get to erasing the prequels, and someone filming Lucas’ conniption while he learns about it would be a little bit of justice for causing so many of us to have that same reaction way back when.

As I mentioned over on the comments for the story about the possible female lead character, J.J. may have to.

The time frame after the end of Jedi is already full of canon, so retcon may be the only option.
