We already know that Tom Baker is coming back on board the TARDIS to celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who. And we’ve heard reports this week that the BBC wants to create a documentary looking back at 50 years of our favorite Time Lord?
So how many anniversary specials will we get for the good Doctor?
According to star Matt Smith, we’ll get “multiple” specials. Smith tipped the news in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, along with news that series eight probably won’t air until 2014. Smith said that producer Steven Moffat had tipped him into some of the details of season eight and said, “Are you ready to cry?”
While nothing is confirmed yet, it sounds like once series seven concludes, we could get a fall run of specials to celebrate the 50th anniversary next year.
