Moffat Drops Huge River Song SPOILER

Moffat Drops Huge River Song SPOILER

May 15, 2012 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

Steven Moffat is using Twitter again to drop new nuggets of Doctor Who news.

In this case, it’s a detail about one of the new series most popular characters, River Song.

In a recent Twitter debate, Moffat said that River Song is bisexual.

Moffat outed River during a brief Twitterconversation with fans last Friday that started when someone asked him how the Doctor would respond to gay marriage.

“You’d have to explain gay to him first,” Moffat said. “Then straight! Then why you were still talking when there’s ALL THESE SPACESHIPS!!”

He’s just setting us up for a potential female Doctor!

Time Lords, Time Agents that can’t die, TARDISes that can take you literally any place and literally any time.
    Wibbly wobbly…you know the rest.
I’m not surprised that River Song would be omni-sexual or at least in human terms: bi-sexual.
There have been female Time Lords. I don’t know how many of them have called themselves “The Doctor”. There was a Corsair who had a female regeneration, and apparently, she might have been a “Bad Girl!”.
Time will tell if we’ll see a female Doctor.
Me? I’d really like to see Chewitel Edjiofor (sorry ’bout the spelling) as a Time Lord.

Hm. Need to remember that Doctor Who is still seen by the BBC as a childrens program and so I don’t think we’ll see River in those comfortable shoes any time soon. Probably be a few hints dropped in that children can’t catch, but thats as far as it goes. Captain Jack didmuch the same.

Also – is anyone else a little fed up with the way the focus of the show seems to be shifting from the Doctor to the other characters? I’m getting a bit fed up with the way that River seems to be able to do just about everything, escape from prison, fly the TARDIS etc etc. It the producer love her that much, give her a spin off (like Sarah Jane). Then I can just not bother to watch it.
