With Eureka gearing up for its final season starting Monday, series creator and producer Jamie Paglia says the final season will be a “love letter” to the fans.
“We pick up where we left off with Carter and Henry trying to figure out what happened to the Astraeus and the crew and how to get them back. And then we’ll pick up with our crew trying to figure out how to get themselves out of a very precarious situation. So it’s interesting to be able to tell a story from both perspectives,” he said.
“There are so many big, shocking turns, and the ramifications are so huge, that they will come back around in the end of the season. It’s hard to divulge too much without ruining it. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but I can say that we do have some great guest stars returning and a couple of surprise faces who will pop up along the way,” said Paglia.
And as the show heads into its final fourteen episodes, Paglia wants to express his gratitude to the fans
“Please be sure to tell from me to all of our fans how grateful I am for the support over the years. This was my first foray into television, and to be able to have something like this last as long as it has with the kind of passionate support that they’ve shown us on the show, all of the actors and writers individually, it has just been really a career-changing experience. Something that I will always cherish. So my thanks to everyone for helping us get this far,” he says.

I can’t wait. I didn’t know they had gotten a 14 episode run. I could have sworn it was only going to be 5.

If memory serves, Season 5 was slated for a 13 episode run, which were shot, then they were given the notice that the series was cancelled. They shot a 14th ep to wrap everything up. A nice change from the normal cancellation process.

The bad thing was that they were given a green light for a sixth season and then unexpectedly cancelled instead just a short time afterward… well at least we get a conclusion to the series…most series don’t even get that. Eureka may not have been hard hitting scifi but it was a fun and interesting show to watch…I’m gonna miss it when it’s gone.
