Whether Fox brings Fringe back for a fifth season, producer Jeff Pinkner says fan won’t be left hanging.
Should Fox choose to pass on another season, Pinker says conversations are in place for at least a one-off comic book to wrap up the series.
Pinker says the upcoming fourth season finale will answer most of the fans’ on-going questions but won’t provide closure on everything.
“It would be really elaborate, and we would go to town on it and make sure that everything you needed to understand about the show would be in that and pay off that way,” he said. “That’s our backup plan.”
Fringe returns Friday on Fox.

I wish they would do it as novels. Hell, I’d even prefer a cartoon with new actor voices.
I second Novels. It’s the best way to really get deep in the story. I wish SGU would extend the story via Novels also.

Not to be all “Me, too” about it but I would much prefer novel(s) to comics/graphic novels. I know that’s the in thing these days but I’m just old enough to understand how much more powerful and expressive words are over pictures when it comes to storytelling.
And none of that “A Picture paints a Thousand Words” rubbish, either. That’s not relevant to stories.
I prefer the fifth season…but yeah a novel over a comic anytime…can put a lot more detail in it.
I agree. Novels are definitely the way to go. Ending it as a comic book would probably alienate their non-comic-book-enjoying-fans (such as myself).
