Here’s a little something that will make Michael R. Mennenga happy.
After debuting in the top spot at the box-office with “Resident Evil: Afterlife,” it looks like the franchise will continue with actress Milla Jovovich in a starring roles. Jovovich told Vulture that given the film’s solid opening, she is ready to work on a fifth installment.
And she says, she thinks the film will push a new boundary and be “interactive.” No, the film won’t be a choose your own adventure type of movie, but instead will be open to input from fans of the franchise during the creative process.
“This new Resident Evil is the first one to ever open at No. 1 worldwide. It’s the biggest movie in the franchise,” Jovovich tells Vulture.
“So we’re definitely going to make another one. We’ve been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it’s probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It’s going to be a more interactive process.”
Whether or not her husband, Paul W.S. Anderson will return to helm this new movie isn’t yet known.
