On TV’s “The Big Bang Theory,” actor Wil Wheaton plays an evil version of himself, serving as a nemesis to Jim Parson’s Dr. Sheldon Cooper. In one memorable appearance, the evil Wil pretends to apologize to Sheldon for failing to appear at a convention, only to turn the tables on Sheldon in a strategy game.
Our next story just shows how evil Wil is a character on TV and that the real Wil Wheaton is a pretty cool guy.
Twenty-one years ago, then-eight-year-old Teresa Juniso sent in $12 to join the Wilpower Fan Club. She was supposed to receive a membership card, a photo and a letter in return. But it turns out she didn’t get anything due to an error.
Wheaton found out and has taken steps to try and make up for the oversight. Wheaton assembled together an entire package of items that Teresa would have received as part of her membership 21 years ago. He also included a note, apologizing for the delay.
Dear 8 year-old Teresa,
I wanted to apologize to you for making you wait so long to get your official WilPower fanclub membership kit. You see, 15 year-old me is very busy with work and school, and the people who were responsible for getting your membership kit mailed back to you must have made a mistake.

At times, during the series, I thought Will Wheaton was a douche. But after all these years it turns out the guy I thought was the coolest (Jon Luke-Patrick Stewart) is the douche and Will is the super cool guy.
Here’s to you Cool Guy Will, I solute you with a fully stuffed burrito.

It’s great to see Wil getting the props he disserve. He’s always been cool but the way that the ST:TNG writers kept having Wesley save the universe and all just made it bad for him. Even Wil was getting sick of it.
True story: Many years ago Wil and his brother were attending a Star Trek convention. At one point the con was showing clips from the show and the guys were sitting at the back of the room. When each character came on the screen the audience would clap/cheer. When Wesley came on there was a polite round of applause. Wil’s brother turned to him and said something along the lines of, “They must know you’re here ’cause they didn’t boo.”

It’s always a mistake to associate the character’s personality with the actor who portrays them. Usually, they’re nothing like each other.

Curses! And all these years I thought Michael C. Hall was really a serial killer! 😉
