Earlier this year, viewers in the UK were upset about the first installment of the Matt Smith era featuring Amy as a kiss-o-gram and the new Doctor changing clothes in front of her.
Now, some members of the viewing audience are upset about this week’s episode, “The Lodger.” In one scene, the Doctor is seen garbed only in a towel. Some fans claim that they can see private parts of Matt Smith.
The BBC refutes the claim.
“Fans might speculate about what they saw. But I can assure them that Matt wasn’t totally naked when he filmed these scenes. He was sporting an item to protect his modesty,” said a BBC spokesperson.
Ah for the good old days of the Hinchcliffe/Baker era when people got only got upset by the horrifying images of graphic violence….

Some people need lives. Sorry. Let me correct that. A lot of people need lives.

These are people who desperately wanted to see something more that *I* did because I was lookin’…and I couldn’t see a *damned* thing.
They didn’t even show his butt.
Why?
Because after all is said and done…IT’S A KID’S SHOW.
Moffatt has kids of his own.
The people who produce Doctor Who know they’re not doing Torchwood (and in that show, they’re not showing anything more than someone’s butt). They know what is proper to show kids and what is not.
And in the 1st ep, we didn’t see The Doctor undressed in front of Amy.
We DID see Amy’s reaction, though.
And it was priceless.
Rory: Aren’t you going to turn your back?
Amy: ….Nope….

It’s not the first time the Doctor has been naked, or nearly so. What about Jon Pertwee in his first episode “Spearhead From Space”? There was a scene early in the episode where he’s taking a shower and then steals someone else’s clothes (and then eventually the guy’s car as well).

Wow, for 7 frames, or about 1/3 of a second. You can see a really really blurry image of nothing. It’s when he charges out of the apartment and drops his towel.
About the time it takes to blink.

Maybe the next doctor will be Janet Jackson?
Seriously, we just can’t get into this new doctor; can’t see really what they are going for with him. Oh well meh. We have something here that solves this whole issue, it’s called a remote control. And plenty of other things to watch.

People need to get a life, geez. OMG a guy with a towel wrapped around him!

People have been saying you can see all of certain actors in films if you pause the right way and look hard enough for years….
I just find it amusing as an old school Who fan that we’ve got the show stirring up controversy again.
Somewhere Mary Whitehouse is whirring in her grave….

People also think they see things that aren’t there also. When the original “Psycho” was being rated, the rater was positive that he saw a little nudity in the shower scene, they had to go and play the scene frame by frame to show that there was no nudity. Also, people thought in Psycho you actually saw her being slashed, but you never actually do. Our minds makes us think we see these things.

I really think that people have too much times on their hands. In the episode where the second Doctor was grown after Donna touched the hand, the second Doctor regenerated and he was nude. I do not think anyone made an issue of it then.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. That was “Journey’s End”, by the way.
