Sheppard Guests on “Warehouse 13”

Sheppard Guests on “Warehouse 13”

September 8, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 7 Comments

Don’t let the post-DragonCon haze or recovering from the Labor Day weekend lead you to forget that SyFy has a brand new episode of “Warehouse 13” this evening.

WAREHOUSE 13: (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) — “Breakdown”

When the energy levels in the Warehouse reach critical mass, things heat up for the team members trapped inside. Mark Sheppard of “Battlestar Galactica” guest stars.

Sheppard guests at Bernard Valda. Sheppard told SciFi Wire the name drew him to the role on the popular series.

“”If you know the premise of the show, the warehouse is the repository, the storage facility for all of this supernatural and scary stuff that the prevailing government finds,” he said. “Somebody has to run it for the dominant superpower controlling the warehouse over the ages. It’s appeared so far throughout the season that Mrs. Frederic [CCH Pounder] is running it, when in fact there is a group behind her called the Regents, and I am one of said Regents.”

Sheppard added, “Valda is extremely concerned as to what’s happening with the shadowy figure of MacPherson [Roger Rees], who is Artie’s [Saul Rubinek] nemesis. I’ve finally emerged and revealed the Regents in order to start to deal with the problem that MacPherson is posing. So I think this is an ongoing situation.”

An ongoing situation? Could that mean we’ll see Sheppard again in the second season?

“I hope so,” Sheppard said. “This first time it was my friends at Syfy probably saying, ‘Hmm, nine and a half pages, do it in a day … Let’s get Mark.’ It was one of those, and it’s a beautifully written show. I’ve been a fan of it. I worked with [co-creator] Jane Espenson from Firefly to Battlestar. I think it’s fantastic. And the opportunity to go work with Saul and CC, I don’t think anybody would turn that down. We had a wonderful time, and I think Mr. Valda is an interesting development in the ‘Warehouse 13’ story.”

Sheppard added, “The chances of me coming back are, I think, pretty good. You can decide when you see the episode [if it’s possible]. I’d love to come back. My wife and kids, we actually watch the show. So I’d be excited.”

This is definitely a sign that this show is not good. I am glad to see Mark on the show but I hope it is more that what the gave porr old Joe last week. His role was not much more than a cameo and was used strictly to gain an audience. I once again saw nothing new in concept from Friday the 13th TV series and Poltergeist-The legacy on Showtime. I mean I like the show to watch but it is not in the good catergory, adequate at best is how I see it as do several others I talk with. I know we are in the minority but I want something good not just adequate. I am hoping it will turn around and I will keep watching.

I tend to think of him as “Badger” from Firefly.

That’s great! I’ve loved this show from the beginning and it’s only getting better. The familiar guest stars have been great so far but I think Mark Shepard tops them all. I have to admit that I’ve only ever seen Mark Shepard in “Fire Fly” and “BSG” but everytime he is on screen I love watching him work. So if Mark Shepard is to be a re-occuring guest star on W13 he can only make it better.

Are you sure you only saw him in BSG and Firefly, Jayson?
Mark Sheppard made an appearance on quite a few shows.. medium, middleman, leverage, dollhouse, …

Sorry people Mark Shepard neither adds nor delets any thing from the show. The majority of the people watching the show might say “hay is he the guy from BSG, and the wife goes no I do not think so.

V, your probably correct in that Mark Shepard has obviously been a lot more than those few shows. He’s one of those character actors who I’ve probably seen a lot but never noticed. When I read your reply I realized that I had seen him in an episode of “24” so yes I’ve probably seen him in a lot more but those few shows are really where I took notice of this great actor.

Michael, after seeing last nights episode I’m looking forward to Mark Shepard returning (I hope) to the series. In his role he conveyed a tone of seriousness yet he wasn’t totally unreasonable. I think if he appears again it will be even better, I look forward to that.

Too many regents! (they) Filled a small Cafe with them. Possibilty that some were guards, but way it was shot did not provide much info beyond Valda part and Waitress/Secretary part.
