Paramount Pictures has released three new photos of models created from the new ILM digital design of the Enterprise for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming “Star Trek” reboot. Each model was created by a respected artist and show off the new iconic ship in a different design.
First up is a standard model ship, created by FX Company/Quantum Mechanix model. According to SciFi Wire, this model of the classic ship is 34 inches long and features lights, decals and “aztec” painting patterns designed to mirror the actual ship seen in the film.
Next is a model by Duncan Lemon, a respected Santa Monica, Calif., street artist who is inspired by chameleons and subway graffiti.
Finally, when you absolutely have to have to the Romulan Neutral Zone overnight, you can use the UPS version of the classic starship. This version was created by Mr. Brainwash, or MBW, the pseudonym of a well-known eccentric Los Angeles-based pop street artist.

I trust there will eventually be a plastic scale model released at some point for we mere mortals to build. I haven’t been interested in building anything in a long long time.

Don’t give Steve Jobs any ideas…..there are probably 6 different skins coming out to make your (insert device here) look like a tricorder or communicator that will hit the street in late April or early May. Can’t wait for the models to show up at the hobby/comic shop
