Television and big screen star Christina Applegate, only age 36, is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. The cancer was detected on a recent MRI and fortunately has been caught early enough and the treatment regime should get it all. Applegate has been nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her show “Samantha Who?”, in which she plays a woman who wakes from a coma with no memory of who she is. She was already scheduled to appear on a one-hour television special, “Stand Up To Cancer,” to be aired on ABC, CBS and NBC on September 5 to raise funds for cancer research, which makes this even more ironic.
