Alan Moore’s “Watchmen” graphic novel, which is being turned into a film that has already caused quite a buzz in entertainment news circles, has acquired a majority of its cast. Speculation can now end as to whether or not Keanu Reeves, who was rumored to be the main actor being sought after, will be in the flick or not. The answer, at this time is, Or Not!
Warner Bros. has chosen actors Billy Crudup, Patrick Wilson and Matthew Goode for major parts in the film. Others playing important roles just announced by the studio will be Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jackie Earle Haley and Malin Akerman.
Billy Crudup will play the protagonist with the fatalistic world-view – Dr. Manhattan, the part many thought Keanu Reeves might play. Patrick Wilson will portray Night Owl, Matthew Goode is Ozymandias, and the third headliner, Dean Morgan, has been cast as the Comedian. Haley and Akerman round out the cast as Rorschach, and Silk Spectre.

I for one welcome our new Watchmen…
Glad to see there’s no A-listers sucking the budget dry.

No kidding. Crudup (who I like as an actor, though I hate him for ditching the mother of his child like a hot rock) is the only one I’ve heard of.
