Monday night’s episode of “Chuck” has created a bit of a buzz within the fan community.
When “Chuck” returns from its Olympics break, expect to see just as many famous faces guest starring on the show. Early episodes in season three have seen Steve Austin and Brandon Routh.
They will be joined by veteran actors Swoozie Kurtz and Fred Willard for what is being called a “Hart to Hart”eseque storyline later this season.

Monday night, “Chuck” continued its penchant for big-name guest stars with the appearance of Angie Harmon and the kick-off of an arc with “Superman Returns” star Brandon Routh.
We already know that Scott Bakula will back later this year, reprising his role as Chuck’s dad.

The ratings for “Chuck” slipped a bit Monday for the fourth installment of the third season. However, the news is still good and given NBC’s current woes, it still looks good for a fourth season.
“Chuck” was off a tenth of a point from last week, down to 6.5 million viewers for the 8 p.m. EST hour. That was good enough for third place overall, behind CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother” and “Accidentally on Purpose” and ABC’s “The Bachelor.”
“Chuck” Has Solid Ratings Monday

Sunday night’s debut saw solid numbers and Monday’s airing saw 7.3 million viewers tune in for the spy dramedy.
Powered by the juggernaut that is “House” Fox took first place in 8 p.m EST hour, followed by ABC’s new version of “The Bachelor” and then the 100th episode of “How I Met Your Mother.”
“Chuck” Ratings Up in Return

The Sunday night return of “Chuck” brought good news for NBC.
The spy dramedy saw its highest ratings since last year’s much hyped 3-D episode aired, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
EW’s Michael Ausiello reports that actor Scott Bakula has signed on to resume his role of Steve Bartowski for the third season.
Ausiello reports that series creator Josh Schwartz indicated the return would be for several episodes and called the return of Chuck’s dad “the biggest thing we’ve ever done on the show.”

Every time I see a new promo for “Chuck,” I feel like I did when I was much younger trying to get to sleep on Christmas Eve.

As I sit down to count the many things I’m thankful for this week, one of my biggest geek thanks will be that “Chuck” is returning in early January.
NBC has begun an aggressive marketing campaign for the show, including a couple of new short promos for the show.
Everyone’s favorite Nerd Herd member turned spy will return to television screens on Sunday, January 10th.
NBC has announced that the third season of “Chuck” will get a two night kick-off in January. On Sunday, the show will run a two-hour season premiere and then settle into its regular time slot the next evening. “Chuck” will air on Mondays at 8 p.m. EST, according to NBC.
