I have to agree with Sean, if they re-imagine the series as something other than the moon traveling through space, it has potential. Maybe a Pandorum or Starlost space ark hurtling through space could work. Less pyrotechnics too, unless this is an interstellar semiconductor factory, able to replace all of those components. I'm also less interested in interstellar doorways to hell being open with demons, ghosts, werewolves, Jason X, Dracula 3000, Freddie K, or Michael M pouring through to mutilate in the dark. Lets hope that this bad boy is a true re-imagining with imagination, else I'll just dial along blissfully.

It's been a little while sense anyone's posted anything here, but I'm hoping someone will see my message! We didn't watch Journeyman when it was on, but I think it's one of the best TV series ever! I love the plots and the characters and relationships. Wonderful!!! But what I'd REALLY like to know is, has it come out on DVD? Will it ever come out? Is there anyway to get it perminantly, rather than on Hulu where they might take it off at any time! I really don't want to lose the series!! Please answer! It's for my dad's birthday this month, and I know he'd LOVE IT!!!!! Sci-Fi fan P.S. Thank you cast and crew of Journeyman for giving us such a wonderful, fantasic show!

Well, duh. Of course Greedo shot first. The only reason we never heard the second shot was because Han's blaster was silenced. The ONE AND ONLY shot in the audio was thus, quite obviously Greedo's. GL just removed the silencer effect from the original film. Yeah, that's the ticket... facepalm Or in other words: waves hand This isn't the shooting scene you're looking for. waves hand

He can put up as many shields in defence of his decisions he wants, but the end results speak for themselves. His "improvements" don't make the movies better in the least. As for his comparison's to Bladerunner, the difference is the DVDs contain the original version along with the various cuts. THe original versions of the starwars films are no longer available. Only the not so special versions are.... sigh.

Oh, George, George, George, so in love with tech, so clueless about plot.....or character development.

Back in 1977, I naturally thought Han shooting first was meant to introduce some tension about how trustworthy this guy was. Show us he was ruthless and mercenary, and might just betray everyone if it was in his best interests. Sure, he becomes a great hero eventually, but the first movie chronicles the first steps of that journey from cad to comrade. After shooting first, it's much easier to believe he's going to take the money and run at the end. And then actually be surprised when he doesn't.

But what do I know? I was just a 13-year-old kid steeped in sf classics and film history. Just like George was once, before the flannel went to his head.

I'll buy the yoda excuse, except that they had other completely CG characters that looked fine. As for Han shooting first, that was what made him a scoundrel, not a cold blooded killer, it's like shooting first when someone pulls a gun on you, it's self defensive in naturem and it proves what a badass Han is.

Batman was always meant to be a serial, X-men also. Watchmen was meant to be a stand alone and it stands alone just fine. Moore could have written Watchmen with the intention of handing off the characters at some point but he didn't. As nutjob as he is, his story has it's own integrity and shoe-horning more content into his universe shows a complete disregard for the source material. In essence Rorschach written by someone else is not Rorschach. A bad idea executed well is still a bad idea.

I can see both sides for this one. Alan Moore believes he told the only story he wanted to with those characters and that world.

But the world he created was much bigger than that moment, and I cannot fault creative and curious storytellers (writers & artists) from wanting to tell the stories they were inspired to dream up because of Alan's work.

Sure, there's probably a cashflow factor as motivation for some, but if it's done well, and I enjoy it, I don't see a downside.

For instance, I was terrified they would screw up X-Men: First Class, from the day they announced and all throughout production. I was happy for more X-Men, but worried that it might turn out poorly. I don't think I'd been so happy in years as the day me and my friend left the theater after seeing the sneak preview... that was a wonderful example of it being done right (the fact that my friend had already planned to see it again with some of his Army buddies was another good sign).

Whether or not a Watchmen prequel comic could achieve the same heights, we'll just have to see... and praise or vilify accordingly after we've seen the end results

The characters from Watchmen were taken from archetypes in DC comics and used to look at them in a very different light. I think there is much more room to look at these characters and tell relevant, timely stories today. I love Watchmen as much if not more then the next person but I say let's see what we can do with the characters. What if Bob Kane had said "I've told the Batman story. Let it be."

The first two seasons of the British version were fantastic...last season kinda fell off in my opinion. Have to agree with Mark F. about the American version...I've stuck with it and it has continued to grow on me and the different storyline they are pursuing has stopped me from overly-comparing the two...so now I'm able to enjoy it on it's own merits. I actually think the werewolf and ghost plots may be better in concept than the British version...the vampire one is about equal...but what can you say about that...not much original you can do with vampires...they've been done to death in the last few years.

I like both versions of Being Human. I've been a fan of the original from the beginning. I initially didn't care much for the American version, but came to like it quite a bit. And now with them going on a 2nd season story line that is removed from the original, I don't have the nagging sense of "I've seen this before done better". So I'm glad the American version has been succesfull. Now I'm looking forward to the new season of the original when it comes over to BBC America.

At 6am. I know I'm a trucker and work long and odd hours, but even I'm not up at 6am est very often. And when I'm on the west coast it becomes even more unlikely.
I think you guys and Kim from book radio should talk about switching them so that the better show is on Friday.
