Coming to Slice Robert Picardo on Slice of SciFi July 19, 2008
Our special guest this week is Robert Picardo, a veteran actor who has starred in such hit television series’ as the “Wonder Years,” “China Beach,” “Star Trek: Voyager” and “Stargate SG-1.”
Robert can now be seen every week as a series regular on the People’s Choice Award winning show “Stargate: Atlantis,” reprising his SG-1 role of IOA overseer Richard Woolsey. He will soon be seen on the big screen in the horror story “Sensored,” doing voice-work for the animated film “Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey” with fellow actors John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson and James Earl Jones and in the sports drama “Chasing the Green” from director Russ Emanuel.
This will be Robert’s second visit to Slice of SciFi. He was our guest in August 2007 from Las Vegas. He joins us this weekend to bring us up-to-date about his work on Atlantis as the station’s new director, replacing Col. Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) as the new chief.

Coming to Slice Rekha Sharma Visits Slice of SciFi Show #169 - Sat. July 12
Our guest this weekend for Slice of SciFi Show #169 will be actress Rekha Sharma from “Battlestar Galactica.”
Rekha appeared each week for several seasons as President Roslin’s (Mary McDonnell) chief of staff, Tory Foster. What started out as a relatively small part has become a major role for the beautiful actress. It was recently revealed that Tory is one of the Final Five Cylons, and as such, will have a very definitive part to play in the outcome of the relationship between humans and Cylons as the series comes to its close sometime in 2009.
Rekha starred in such SF television shows as “Smallville, “John Doe” and “Dark Angel” before becoming such an integral part of the crew of the Colonial Fleet. Her feature-film appearances include “Edison” and “The Chronicles of Riddick.”

Coming to Slice Happy Independence Day America
As Americans celebrate their July 4th Independence Day weekend, the Slice of SciFi studio and news crew are also using this opportunity to take a needed break as well. Therefore, there will be no new online show this weekend, however I will be posting an all-new voicemail show later this afternoon.
Besides all online fans getting a repeat show, our XM-Satellite Radio audience will also be treated to an encore performance of the exciting show we did a month ago with Charlie Jade executive producer and co-creator Robert Wertheimer. In case you missed that show, it was used to talk about our new FarPoint Media podcast CharlieJade.net. Stop by that website and give it a listen for complete commentary from Robert about each week’s “Charlie Jade” episodes as they air on the SCI FI Channel.

Coming to Slice J.C. Hutchins on Slice of SciFi Show June 28
Our guest this week is author J.C. Hutchins, author of the highly popular podiobook “7th Son.”
After nearly 2,000,000 downloads, “7th Son” will be coming to print Summer 2009.

Chris McKeown, former co-owner, site manager and editor for SciFi United will be our guest for the next Slice of SciFi Show beginning this Saturday, June 21, 2008 online and again on June 30, 2008 on XM-Satellite Radio’s Sonic Channel.
Chris, now showrunner for SciFi Updates.com will bring us up-to-date on the events surrounding the rise and fall of FedCon USA this past weekend in Dallas, Texas, as well as tell us what is happening over at SciFi United.

Coming to Slice Trevor Roth & David Reddick on Slice of SciFi - June 14, 2008

Our two guests for the next Slice of SciFi show will be cartoonist/illustrator David Reddick and producer Trevor Roth.
Trevor makes a return visit to Slice of SciFi, having visited with us back in February. He is producer, friend and business partner with Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry and one of the driving forces behind Roddenberry Productions. He will bring us up-to-date about all the new things happening at Roddenberry Productions, which is an extension of what “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry began over 40 years ago.
David Reddick, most known for his “The Trek Life” cartoons when the official Star Trek website Star Trek.com was alive and well, has joined the team at Roddenberry Productions and is Roddenberry.com’s main site illustrator. He is an award winning cartoonist who worked many years as the newsroom artist for Indiana’s The Herald Bulletin. His cartoons have been syndicated nationally by the Scripps Howard News Service, CNHI News Service, American Publishing’s National News Syndicate and worldwide by Artizans Syndicate. David currently runs two new weekly webcomics for the official Roddenberry.com called “Gene’s Journal”, about a young Gene Roddenberry, his adventures as a kid, and the journal he kept it all written in…. and “Rod & Barry,” about two aliens sent to earth by their homeworld to scout it our for anihilation, and while monitoring earth’s communications (i.e., TV) they become hooked on Science Fiction Television, and continually stave off earth’s destruction while they catch up on their favorite episodes, all the while commenting on current sci-fi trends and shows.

Coming to Slice Earl Newton Visits Slice of SciFi
Earl Newton, one of our favorite guests returns this week for Slice of SciFi show #164, ready for download this Saturday, June 7 and on XM-Satellite Radio’s Sonic Theater on June 16.
Earl Newton is a multiple-award winning writer and director, and has worked professionally in a number of mediums: writing and directing for the stage, the screen (big and small), and the radio.
He currently produces Stranger Things, the world’s first high-definition science fiction series to be shot and released on the Internet (pre-dating even the larger budgeted Sanctuary). Stranger Things has joined the IllusionTV lineup marking a transition from webisodes to television. This marks the first in a new Illusion initiative to get more indie sci-fi to a wide audience.
Of course there will be plenty of news, special segments and good fun to be had as well, so be sure to join us this weekend for Slice of SciFi show #164.
Coming to Slice Chase Masterson & James Kerwin Return to Slice
The very beautiful and talented actress/singer Chase Masterson of “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and “Star Trek: Of Gods and Men” fame returns to Slice of SciFi along with director/writer James Kerwin.
They will be our guests on Slice of SciFi Show #161 for a second time together. The show is due to air online this Saturday, May 17, 2008 and on XM-Satellite Radio’s Sonic Theater on Monday, May 26, 2008.
Chase is starring in James’ indie film noir production of “Yesterday Was a Lie,” with the equally beautiful and talented Kipleigh Brown portraying Hoyle, a girl with a sharp mind and a weakness for bourbon who finds herself on the trail of a reclusive genius. Chase appears in the film as a very sexy lounge singer and one of Hoyle’s only allies. “Yesterday Was a Lie” co-stars John Newton, Mike Scriba and the always great Peter Mayhew (”Star Wars”). Supporting cast includes Nathan Mobley, Warren Davis, Megan Henning, Jennifer Slimko, and famed radio personality Robert Siegel. Chase is also the film’s producer.
This new visit will have Chase and James highlighting the movie and all that has taken place with its production and release since they last spoke with us about it a little over two years ago.
