“A Quiet Place”: A Visceral, Sensory Horror Experience

April 10, 2018 By Noah Richman and Daren Gulsvig Leave a Comment

Noah and Daren were both thrilled at the scares and the unique use of sensory effects (or lack thereof) to enhance suspense and make sequences scarier in A Quiet Place.

The focus on visuals for storytelling & world-building rather than dialogue helped focus on the need to stay in world and maintain the silence to survive the monsters showcased the acting and the directing, both exceeding expectations.

Rating: 4.5 stars

In the modern horror thriller A QUIET PLACE, a family of four must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threaten their survival. If they hear you, they hunt you.
