This week, Summer chats with playwright Rob Rokicki about the history and evolution of “The Lightning Thief: The Musical”, from it’s early start as a touring one-act show performing for kids & schools, to the two-act stage production that will be opening on Broadway March 23.
Rob talks about coming up with the changes in music between the versions of the show, and working with Joe Tracz to get the story to feel just right — as fans of the series, they wanted to do right by both the existing fans of the series and the author, Rick Riordan. From what’s been previewed and released so far, it sounds like that mission was accomplished.
Listen to the interview with Joe Tracz for more details about how they brought this beloved story to the stage.
