Appleseed Alpha is a follow-up to the Appleseed franchise and based off of the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow, who is also the creator of Ghost in the Shell. Shirow’s work has been turned into anime movies, television series, and several video games.

This prequel revolves around a young female soldier named Deunan and her cyborg partner, Briareos. As members of the ESWAT organization (Extra Special Weapons and Tactics), they must survive in the post World War 3 apocalyptic New York in search of human’s future hope, and the game follows them as they venture off in search of the legendary city of Olympus.

With world-renowned anime filmmaker Shinji Aramaki involved and a killer soundtrack including Skrillex & Alvin Risk, Yasutaka Nakata (Capsule), Androp, DJ Fumiya (Rip Slyme), and more, this sci-fi game is one gamers may not want to miss.
