Marvel Studios has a plan and it’s a long term one.
According to studio head Kevin Feige, the studio has a strategy for its movies planned out through 2021.
Feige tells the Hollywood Reporter that the studio is looking eight years out for its future plans for its movie franchises. But he’s quick to add that beyond the strategy for 2015-16, nothing is set in stone.
Feige went on to say that the studio has to prove that it’s more than just The Avengers franchise.
“We knew that ifAvengers was going to work, the movies had to stand alone,” he said. “Now we have to prove to the studio that we’re more than just these five characters, these five franchises,” Feige says.
That could put a lot of pressure on next year’s The Guardians of the Galaxy.
