Actor Andrew Lincoln isn’t too concerned about the lack of Emmy love for his hit series The Walking Dead.
“I don’t really think about [the lack of recognition] too much, in all honesty,” Lincoln – who plays Rick Grimes – told Deadline. “It was [former exec producer] Frank [Darabont] and everybody at AMC’s intention to elevate the genre. As soon as I mention the word ‘genre’, people make an [assumption], don’t they? It never occurred to me that this would be a genre show. I think this is a family drama set in Hell. That’s what I see it as. It just so happens that there are zombies.”
The English actor acknowledged that The Walking Dead may not be “everybody’s cup of tea” due to its high levels of gore and violence.
“But all I would urge people to do is give it a chance,” he said. “There’s some incredibly bold storytelling.”

“high levels of gore and violence” yeah right, anyone who’s watched the show will contest that. Heck, most people dislike the show because of the lack of gore and violence (the people who just want to see zombies getting killed). Sure there is gore and violence, and it’s pretty high when compared to most shows, but still pretty tame in my opinon.
