It’s been 30 years since the big-screen version of Stephen King’s Cujo terrified audiences. And that can only mean one thing — it’s time for a reboot
According to Dread Central, Sunn Classic Pictures has announced that it is working on a new version of the movie and that it wants to release the film into theaters later this year.
Sunn Classic Pictures says the film could be a huge hit for the studio and has created a web site and a trailer for the film. The trailer uses footage from the original version along with graphics saying that the new version will hit theaters this fall.
However, a remake of Cujo may not happen. Sunn Classic Pictures hasn’t made a movie in years and there’s no word yet on if Stephen King can or would sell the rights to the novel again.
