We know that Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man and Wolverine are all headlining movies in the next couple of years. But who’s on deck for Marvel to bring to the silver screen?
How about Doctor Strange and Ant Man?
We’ve heard rumors the two characters could get their own feature film, but Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has confirmed the news. The movies will be part of what Marvel calls Phase III.
The sequels to Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy movie are port of Phase II. The next step will be Phase III, which includes an expansion of the movie franchises.
Feige confirmed that Edgar Wright will direct Ant Man and that the film will tie into the Marvel movie universe. Wright has been persistent in his campaign to direct an Ant Man movie since 2004 and Feige says that the only way to bring Ant Man to the screen is “through the lens of Edgar Wright.” Whether or not this means we’ll see Ant Man in the Avengers sequel remains to be seen.
Feige also says that getting the long-rumored Doctor Strange movie to become a reality is important to the studio.
“He’s a great, original character,” Feige tells MTV Splashpage. “He checks the box off this criteria that I have: he’s totally different from anything else we have, just like Guardians of the Galaxy. He’s totally different from anything we’ve done before, as is Ant-Man, which keeps us excited.”
So are you excited for Phase III from Marvel?

I want that Deadpool film that should have been made two years ago. I even read the leaked script and I can tell you it would have been a box office hit if they stuck to what I read. Sigh, but I doubt it’ll ever be made. At least I get an Avengers 2.

You know, I think Robert Downey Jr. would have made a great Dr. Strange. Wonder who they might get to play him.
Ben Ragunton says
Doctor Strange has always been my favorite. I’m sure that with the right people at the helm of that film project it could turn out to be one heck of a movie!!!!!
